Privacy Policy
Your privacy, protected.
Effective Date: Tuesday, 14 April 2026
Welcome to MailCheap! Your privacy is important to us. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our temporary email service.
Information We Collect
MailCheap is designed to provide temporary email addresses without requiring personal data. However, we may collect the following types of information: • Temporary Email Address: When you generate an email address, it is stored on our system for the duration of its validity. • Received Emails: Emails sent to the generated address are temporarily stored until they expire or are deleted. • Log Data: We may collect technical information such as IP addresses, browser type, and device information to ensure service security and prevent abuse. • Cookies: We may use cookies to improve functionality and enhance user experience.
How We Use Your Information
• To provide and maintain the temporary email service. • To prevent spam, fraud, and abuse. • To improve our services and user experience. • To comply with legal obligations, if required.
Data Retention and Deletion
• Anonymous (10-minute) inboxes and their emails are retained only for the lifetime of the session and are automatically removed shortly after expiry. • Free-plan logged-in accounts: emails are available for 24 hours from the time of receipt, then removed from active storage. • Pro and Pro+ accounts: emails are retained until the user deletes them or cancels the account. • Soft-delete grace period: when an email, inbox, or account is deleted (by the user or by automatic retention sweeps), the record is marked as deleted and retained in cold storage for up to 90 days before being permanently and irrecoverably purged, along with any associated files in object storage (Cloudflare R2). This window exists solely for abuse investigation, legal hold, and accidental-deletion recovery on paid plans; the data is never used for any other purpose. • After the 90-day window, data is hard-deleted from our database and object storage and is no longer recoverable by us or by anyone else. • Users may request earlier permanent deletion of their data at any time by contacting us (see Contact Us below).
Sharing of Information
We do not sell, trade, or share your data with third parties, except: • If required by law, regulatory authorities, or law enforcement agencies. • To prevent fraud, security threats, or abuse of our services. • If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, or business transfer where service data may be transferred to another entity.
Cookies and Tracking Technologies
MailCheap may use cookies to enhance functionality. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, but this may affect service usability.
Third-Party Services
MailCheap may contain links to third-party websites. We are not responsible for their privacy practices and encourage users to review their policies.
Security Measures
We implement security measures to protect against unauthorized access, alteration, or deletion of data. However, as a public temporary email service, we encourage users to avoid using MailCheap for sensitive or confidential information.
Children’s Privacy
MailCheap is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect or store information from children.
Your Rights and Choices
Since MailCheap does not require account registration or personal information, there are limited rights applicable regarding data access, modification, or deletion. However, users can clear cookies or avoid using the service if they wish to remain untracked.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page, and continued use of MailCheap constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
